In Episode 8 of the Money Talks podcast, Parker joins me on the pink rug to talk about business. But instead of framing the conversation around the same tired question most children are asked — “what do you want to be when you grow up?” — we’ve adopted a money talk with a twist.
A better question is: if you could start a business today, what would you start?
It’s a question I got from esteemed children’s book author Ty Allan Jackson.
I immediately fell in love with the question and began posing it to Parker every night as part of our routine nighttime salutation about three weeks ago.
Parker had no idea where it came from until I showed her the above video just before recording Episode 8. In the meat of the episode, Parker shares a sampling of businesses she’d like to start, and they have something interesting in common.
We also launch a new segment on the show called “What is Daddy reading?”
We hope you enjoy the episode below.

You’ve read my response to Parker applying for her school’s newly created Student Leadership Team. Now hear Parker’s thoughts on leadership and listen to her share an exciting update in Episode 6 of the Money Talks podcast. We hope you enjoy the episode below.

She couldn’t come up with much. “It was late,” she said in Episode 5 of the Money Talks podcast, trying but failing to make clear why she had a slightly sour mood during her 10th birthday celebration. After digging into what was up with Parker, we welcomed our first guest to the sho…
